2071 300x225 Winter BluesThis winter has been one of the most active in decades.  The entire country is experiencing record breaking temperatures and snow falls.  These types of extreme conditions can contribute to people developing a case of the winter blues.   Studies have shown that winter blues can bring on mood swings due to hibernation.  These mood swings are called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).  SAD is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health experience depressive symptoms in the winter from the lack of sunlight and everything else.

Many of our readers are asking questions like: how much longer do we have before the winter season is over.  While we are only four weeks into the season, it feels like forever for many of us.  This is the one year that many of us are without a doubt hoping for an early spring.

Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away so it is a good time to start planning what you are going to do for that special someone in your life.   Both men and women enjoy a bit of romance on Valentine’s Day.  It is the one day of the year where everyone wants to feel special and loved.

Don’t go crazy trying to reinvent the wheel.  There are many ways and things you can do to make Valentine’s Day romantic and memorable.    Keep it simple: chocolate, flowers, a nice present, fantastic dinner and a bit of entertainment are all it takes.  Remember that Valentine’s Day should be about you and the special person in your life.
