Hi Yvette:
I have a fifteen soon to be sixteen year old daughter. She is 5′8 and 240 lbs. Her weight started spiraling from when she was four years old after she stopped attending day care. Since our
schedules were so busy and long, she became a fast food eater and always upsized the order. She has always been taller than children her age and of course bigger. She was at times even taller and larger than her teachers. Therefore, she gravitated to an older group of kids. Needless to say, she endured comments and smart remarks with a smile being the good Catholic school student she was. The Catholic school administration for the most part put her mature behavior to good use and fostered leadership for their projects. Because she was ostracized by children her own age due to her appearance of an adult, she is a bit angry and comes off as a snob or bossy with her age group. Up until recently she was in denial about her size and tried to fit in wearing the same attire as a 100 lb teenage girl. She is now more aware of her size and angrier. Read the full story »
